Tilmez Bus ("we", "us") provides a school‑bus tracking and attendance service used by schools, bus drivers and assistants, and parents. This policy explains what the Tilmez Bus mobile app collects, how it is used, and your choices. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising or cross‑app tracking.
Information we collect
- Account & contact: your mobile phone number (used to sign in with a one‑time code) and your name.
- Student information: a student's name, grade, school, subscription type, and home pickup location — provided and managed by the school and the parent/guardian to enable bus routing and attendance.
- Location: while a trip is active, the bus's GPS location is shared from the driver/assistant device so parents can see the bus on a live map and pickups/drop‑offs can be recorded. The parent app uses location only to display the map; it does not track the parent in the background.
- Device & push tokens: a push‑notification token and basic device identifiers, used solely to deliver trip notifications.
How we use information
- Authenticate you and keep your session secure.
- Show the live bus location and estimated arrival time to authorized parents.
- Record boarding, drop‑off and attendance for each trip.
- Send trip notifications (e.g. "bus on the way", "arrived at school").
We use your information only to provide these app features. We do not use it for advertising and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Sharing
Information is shared only with: (a) the school operating the bus service your child is enrolled in; and (b) service providers that help us run the app — Google Firebase (push notifications) and our routing/map providers. These providers process data only on our behalf. We never sell personal data.
Data retention
Account and student records are kept while the account is active. Live bus GPS location pings are automatically purged after each trip completes; we retain only the most recent position. You may request deletion of your account data at any time (see Contact).
Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to school and student data is restricted to authorized users (the school, the assigned driver/assistant, and the student's parent/guardian).
Children's data
Tilmez Bus is operated for schools and is used by adults (school staff, drivers, assistants and parents/guardians). Information about students is entered and controlled by the school and the student's parent/guardian for the purpose of safe transport. The app is not directed at children for independent use.
Your choices & rights
You can review or update your information in the app, disable notifications in your device settings, and request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
